What Kind of Church Are You?
We are a Baptist congregation with a rich history and a bright future. We are a welcoming, engaging family of faith, seeking "to be a home to all who would enter." We value our Baptist heritage and are committed to Baptist principles. But although our church is historic and traditional, we are a healthy, growing congregation committed to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the priesthood of all believers.
What Time Are Your Sunday Services?
9:15 a.m. - Worship Service and Sunday School for all ages
10:30 a.m. - Worship Service and Sunday School for all ages
What Are Your Worship Services Like?
Our worship services are traditional in style, yet vibrant and creative. Each service is unique and thematic, developing and reinforcing the biblical theme of the sermon for the day. Our worship services feature the hymns of our faith, anthems presented by the Sanctuary Choir, the majestic and stirring sounds of the pipe organ and the grand piano, as well as other instrumental and choral music, solos, and handbell choirs. The preaching is Christ-centered, Bible-based, and applicable to daily living. We follow the liturgical Christian calendar, celebrating the seasons of the church year: Advent, Epiphany, Lent, Easter and Pentecost. Lay involvement in worship leadership is encouraged, with lay people leading prayers, reading Scripture, or leading children's sermons. Older children participate as acolytes. Our services reflect a unique style that is reverent, but inviting; traditional, but warm.
How Long Are Your Services?
About one hour.
Where Do I Park?
Guest and handicap parking spaces are located in the main parking lot beside the church, close to the courtyard and Welcome Center entrance. There are also some guest parking spaces in the parking lot across Earle Street from the front steps of the Sanctuary. On-street parking is available as well, on Earle and Robinson Streets.
Where Do I Go?
We have greeters at every entrance to assist you as you arrive. Exterior signs will point you in the right direction. If you are arriving for Sunday School, you will want to enter through the Welcome Center (the entrance through the courtyard just off the main parking lot). If you are coming for worship, you may come in the same entrance or simply enter the Sanctuary by way of the front steps (from Earle Street). If you have preschool children, you may follow the signs to our Preschool Welcome Center, located on the first floor of the education building, one level beneath the courtyard level. Handicap entrances are located on the first floor through the preschool area and on the second floor through the Welcome Center. If you have preschoolers, visit our Preschool Welcome Center to gather information about our preschool area.
What Should I Wear?
There is no dress code at our church. Many people dress up, and just as many come dressed casually.
Will I Have To Say Anything or Be Singled Out?
Be assured that you will not be singled out or embarrassed in any way. You may (if you so choose) fill in a guest information card if you would like more information about our church. If you prefer not to, though, that is fine, too. We do not want you to have to do anything that would make you feel uncomfortable.
What About My Preschoolers?
Extended session care is provided during both the 9:15 and 10:30 a.m. worship services. Sunday School classes are also available for preschoolers at both 9:15 and 10:30. Beepers and security tags are provided for parents of preschoolers, to put your minds at ease when you leave your preschoolers in our care. Our preschool area is newly renovated and is a safe environment. Our workers are all trained, approved, and caring. Visit our Preschool Welcome Center through the first floor entrance, one level beneath the courtyard.
